Introduction

A massive welcome to our class page! You should find all the information that you need right here!

Staff members in Acorn Class are very friendly. Mrs Holt is the class teacher and Mrs McCartney is our Higher Level Teaching Assistant. You'll find us all in class at different parts of the week. We also have plenty of volunteers and students to help us make a fantastic learning environment for the children in our care.

Oh, and hang on! We have four chickens to look after too:  Gloria, Spider-Chicken, Hopscotch and Flopsy. They are rescue chickens who were once caged hens. We've given them a wonderful home where they can roam our playground and join in with lessons. The children are so good at cleaning them out and making sure they have a fantastic retirement. We do have some stick insects too, but they're all called Bob.

The class newsletter is below. It gives you information about what the children are learning and also day-to-day information that you might need too. If you have ANY questions, please just let one of us know and we'll do our best to help.

  • During Autumn Term 2025, we will be learning based on the theme of "Superheroes and Fairy Tales".
  • Children will experience activities based on a variety of stories, whilst we also make sure to plan learning based around their interests.
  • Daily phonics sessions will begin along with daily mathematics sessions too.
